F. First Semester Capstone

This semester is almost done meaning that our first semester of our research investigation comes to an end until next August. In the process much has been learned. In my area the purity of the cell line used is very important so a great deal of time was dedicated to achieve a pure line of the host cells and the target cells. One of the biggest challenges was to achieve a balance between academics and the time spent in the lab. Its a fine balance to manage success in both areas without having to sacrifice much of one’s personal space. I still need to work on this area but managed pretty well this semester. Next semester I expect to complete more hands one procedures with the pure lines of cells prepared on this semester to carry out phage display and put to practice the biopanning procedure which is the one I have been working these past two days.
