L. Phages renewed!
This is the last semester in the BioMinds project. This program has certainly helped me in building my skills and character. It has strengthened my desire to continue my graduate studies. The experience has defined more in which areas I wish to work with in my future studies. This being the last semester I hope to accomplish much of the objectives proposed for my project.
I expect to complete this semester:
- Sequencing of phage(s) of the first round of biopanning
- Employ phage plaque technique for the amplified phages from the second round of biopanning
- Third round of biopanning
- PCR rounds of phages from the first and third rounds of biopanning
Last semester the second round of biopanning was producing concurrent lyses when the technique of phage plaques was employed thus time was spent repeating this round. This whole investigating has been successive in terms of relationship between techniques, processes and results. The goals have not changed since the beginning of the project so it has been a continuing growing of results and techniques.
No new techniques will be employed in this project for now, but future development of the investigation includes the use of protein databases. I have learned and practiced the techniques for this project but as any project of investigation it is open for any new technique that can help retrieve reproducible results.

Excelent, José! Wish you luck in your last semester of Bio-MINDS.
